“This Week is Vision Casting Sunday!”
“GROWTH” is ECF’s “word” for 2013! This week Kaye and I are entering our 16th year as Senior Pastors. How fast these 15 years have flown by. What an adventure! We believe we are entering one of our most productive years of harvesting “remaining fruit” for THE KINGDOM of GOD! In the fall of each year we begin to seek God for our vision/mission word for the coming year. As in the past 15 years, the Holy Ghost has confirmed ECF’s “word” for 2013 – “GROWTH!”
ECF has not been exempt from a negative dynamic that is occurring in the Church / Body of Christ –regardless of denomination – doctrine or culture. The exodus of young people leaving the church is staggering and heartbreaking. By the time a young person reaches high school – 80% have abandoned the church. After much soul searching and praying we have learned the “root” of this issue – “Fatherlessness!”
Space will not permit me to detail – suffice it to say that the Holy Ghost has set up a divine connection with Pastor Phil Larson to come along side ECF and exhort, equip and enable ECF (among clusters of other churches in the OKC metro) to reverse this curse. Pastor Phil this past decade was prophesied into ECF during our recent “Gathering of the Eagles.” Pastor Phil will be sharing in this week’s service “The Community Transformation Initiative” and how co-laboring together we will see and experience His Kingdom and His Will be done in ECF – OKC Metro and Oklahoma! AMEN!!! Welcome Pastor Phil and Diane!!!
“GROWTH” is the title and theme of our current sermon series. “GROWTH” is the acronym for “G” Grace, “R” Righteousness, “O” Others, “W” Worship Warfare, “T” Truth, and “H” Health(y). Ephesians 4:15 is the cornerstone for this series; by learning to “speaking the truth in love, we may grow up into Him in all things, which is the Head – even Christ!” Next Sunday (1/13/31) we will continue with Part 5 “Worship Warfare.”
