As of Sunday, December 4, there are 21 days until CHRISTmas Day. As we celebrate this holiday season, remember that there are those that are not having a “Merry – Merry” or “Happy – Happy” season. Due to death, divorce, physical challenges and financial setbacks, people are loaded with the cares of this life. It is only in the Christ in CHRISTmas that we receive of his grace to navigate the issues of this life and live lives in His victory!
This week’s sermon is entitled “Grace Words”. The older I get, the more I appreciate and the more I depend on God’s Grace. Because God gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, (hence CHRISTmas) there is an abundance of Grace and sufficient Grace. In our TEXT, in John 8:1-12 is the story about a woman who was caught in the act of adultery and brought to Jesus – expecting to be stoned to death, which was the normal judicial custom. But, in this story, Jesus makes four statements of Grace that I call “Grace Words”. These words of Grace eternally changed this condemned woman’s life! Let’s soar as we explore “Grace Words”!
I want to send a shout-out “Thank You” to all of you who helped decorate the church for the CHRISTmas holiday. A special “Thank You” to Mama Karen and Poppa Jerry Newton for organizing and leading this annual event! It’s beginning to look a lot like CHRISTmas! “Many hands made less work!”
