Brother & Sister Oxley, and all of Team Eagle’s Pastoral Staff, not only wish you a Happy 2017, but a blessed 2017, as you receive and live out the “MERCIES” of the Lord every day of this year!
Words cannot express how thankful, with the deepest of gratitude, for the generosity you expressed to Kaye and I, as well as our Pastoral Staff, for the CHRISTmas gifts to us. We are doubly humbled and honored. THANK YOU!!
ECF’s “Word” for 2017 is “MERCIES”! Every year, in the latter part of the fall season, I begin to think, meditate and pray for a “now” word for us. I ask Holy Spirit for confirmation and He always confirms. Mercy is undeserved kindness. In scripture, it is linked to covenant – God’s covenantal faithfulness and kindness. We are told that His MERCIES are new each morning (Lamentations 3:22-23) and they also triumph over judgement (James 2:13). So, in 2017, I decree and ask you to agree that ECF will soar as we explore daily our faithful Father God’s “MERCIES”!
This week, we will reflect on Father’s faithfulness for the past (year) and focus on His faithfulness in and for our future. I am asking each one of you to express one thing that you are thankful for, that Father did for you in 2016, one expectation that you desire in 2017. Then we will conclude our worship by sharing together in the Lord’s Table in Holy Communion.
