FATHERS DAY

“And I sought for a man…” Ezekiel 22:30

We are looking for a Few Good Men here at Eagles’ Crest Fellowship. This week is Father’s Day and we thank the Lord for all of the Fathers – whether you are a biological father, a stepfather, a grandfather or a Spiritual father – we are thankful for you!

A man must become a Good man

Before he can become a Great Father.

let us go

“From The Pastor’s Pen”

Associate Pastor – Melvin Bunn

I was glad when they said unto me, “Let us go into the house of the Lord”. Our Senior Pastor, David L. Oxley, Sr., is improving and getting better, day by day. Continue keeping him and the entire First Family in your prayers. I am thankful that he has confidence in our Staff to tow the line until he returns. Please continue to work with the ECF Staff so that the church can operate efficiently and effectively with our daily operations. Remember – if you need any assistance, please call any of your Staff Pastors and we will be glad to assist you with your concerns.

This week, I want to briefly talk to you from this thought, “You shall reap if you faint not”, coming from Galatians chapter 6. I will be focusing on verse 9. So often we find ourselves wanting to quit or give up. Galatians encourages us not to quit because we are going to reap the rewards of our labor. I hope this message will be beneficial to you in your walk with the Lord.

While our Senior Pastor is out, we are asking the Staff to continue to work diligently so the church will run as smooth as possible.

Memorial-Day-624x468

We Remember

In the United States, Memorial Day is a federal holiday reserved for honoring and remembering those who died while serving in the armed forces. Memorial Day originated as Decoration Day, after the American Civil War in 1868. The Grand Army of the Republic established it as a time for the entire nation to use flowers to decorate the graves of those killed in the Union war.

Memorial Day was formed in the 20th century when the Union and Confederate holiday traditions (which were celebrated on different days) merged. It was eventually extended to honor all Americans who died while in the military service.

On Memorial Day, the United States flag is raised briskly to the top of the staff and then solemnly lowered to the half-staff position, where it remains only until noon. It is then raised to full-staff for the remainder of the day.

When the flag is at the half-staff position, it serves as a reminder of the more than one million men and women that gave their lives while serving their country. At noon, their memory is raised by the living, who resolve not to let their sacrifice be in vain, but to rise up in their stead and continue the fight for liberty and justice for all.
